King Clacwar of the Lakelands paced up and down in his den. It frustrated him. He was still king .... his only son and heir should have been king already! But he couldn't ... he couldn't .. not before he had a queen. Ro would make a great king, Kwana would guide him. These days, the old king didn't come outside very often. He didn't want to risk losing this crown; while he wasn't weak, he was no longer the king he once was. He was already old and no longer in his best years when Rhoakoch was born, but now Ro was an adult ... And he already took care of most issues. Clacwar showed himself, at times, from a distance, so his pride and subjects would continue to see him as the brave, strong king he was. But they knew. They knew how old he was. And what was worse ... he know how they knew. He couldn't say anything specific, he didn't have proof ... but he knew. Rhostight, his younger twin .. he had always been envious. Clacwar had chosen to ignore it for most of his life, but now ... the death of all of his children ... all accidents, they claimed. But what are the odds, each cub, each son, each daughter, falls off cliffs, drowns, runs under a stampede? It hurt his heart to think, his beloved brother was responsible ... but he couldn't ... he wouldn't take any changes anymore. Ro needed a mate, a queen to help him, to stand on his side, before he could take the throne!
Jasnina, the queen and mate of Clacwar entered his den. She was one of the few still allowed in his den. "My love." She gently greeted him, and muzzled him. Directly behind her, were 4 defenders. The most loyal of all defenders; a lion and his mate, and their now 2 adult children. They bowed in respect to their king; knowing something important was about to happen. Clacwar carefully stepped forward. "My old friends.. Rivan and Rismina.." He had grown up with them, they were friends, and he know he could relay on them. "My son needs a mate." The defenders looked at each other; everyone know Ro wasn't very into finding a mate yet. "We could steal a lioness from the desertlands?" Suggested the son of the defenders. "No, no, not a lioness for his harem, but a queen, one to be loyal to him, to help him .."
The old king sighed, and his queen carefully stood next to him, supporting him. "I've called here, to ask for a great favor. For once, not only to be my eyes, but to speak for me as well. Misra and Worthskig, Please, travel to our allies, the Whitelands. Explain to them we are in need of a queen, a mate for our future king. Ask them for help. Ask them ... to send us a queen." Both young lions nodded. "Rivan, Rismina ... I'm sorry I ask this to your children; I am truly sorry to send them on such a long journey.. But they are the most loyal; they are the only ones who can."
Jasnina sighed. "You know, even if they return with a queen ... Our Ro will never accept her ..."
"He will have too." Clacwar's voice sounded determent.
Jasnina interfered. "Then tell him why. Tell him why it's so important he has a queen before he can take the throne!"
"NO!" The old king shook all over his body ... "Why? We can not prove anything ... and they are family ... My FAMILY." The old king cried; fearing what the future would bring...
So big plot!
Now you know why I didn't let Ro start out as king; to have a little fun with mates and stuff. Also, the old king is heartbroken .. he knows his family is betraying him ... but he loves them. And he can't banish them without proof; he can't even protect Ro. So he wants Ro to have a good queen before he takes the throne!
Anyone interested in being the queen brought back from the whitelands?
BTW, they seriously need more pride members too! Ask *Jian89 if you want somebody from the royal family
